The luster is really nice and the strike is very solid. I was thinking 65 or so myself. That tiny cheek hit is the only one on there. The reverse is really nice as well except for a tiny bit of chatter.
Raw Morgan dollar can be not what photo's are once a Tpg grades it. MS 63 is the highest level I would be willing to give. Coin sniffer could reveal how it got the luster . Folks tend to forget there's no new hoards been found.
Jello, it really doesn't matter. According to QDB, there were about 1.6 million released by the Treasury Dept. in 1963 (?) and the field population (raw) was about 250-350K in MS64 alone. Chris
51 years Chris a lot of doctors could've done something to it. Shiny new looking item sells better than others. It doesn't matter to me.mine all graded already.
I don't feel this was doctored and the luster and surfaces look good. It is rather clean as far as hits go. I felt it could go 65 or 64+ at least.
20 years of sending other folks coins to be graded. To many that looked like this Came back in a Body bag or marked cleaned. 64 65 Morgan dollar raw big numbers
I don't see evidence of cleaning. There is a grainy appearance which is prolly caused by the lighting. There is very little noise on this coin. This one, IMHO, has an excellent shot at a 5. Send it in!
