Images don't show luster very well, but you'll have that with scans. I have my opinion and won't say until others chime in. What would guess the grade to be? Pictures are rather large they might take a minute to load.

I have weird feelings about this one, and I don't know if I can accurately grade it with the scans provided, to my knowledge, of what I can see, there is no luster at all.
I would need to see some pictures with a camera displaying the details we see in the scans, and the luster.
This coin is either very weakly struck, or has some wear on the eagle's breast.
The neck, and the face are battered pretty bad as well
IMO, this coin is not worth sending in, as it would not grade as high as you think it would, I can't see this coin getting any better than a 62 with those scans of the coin, although I think it might grade at AU58-MS60, so not worth sending in, unless you prefer the coin be in a slab

I am not sure that what I am seeing is something on the holder or something on the coin.

I probably would not get it slabbed.

I always say this before grading these "I'm no Morgan expert" - With that said, I'm saying its AU53-55 all the way and not worth slabbing.

Personally I would not send that in. The fields and the devices are full of chatter, It could be the scan but the high points seem to show a bit of wear making this AU.

Also could be the scan but as others note there is no luster to be mentioned.

Not a VAM guy but if it were a rare VAM then it might be worth sending in.

Hard to tell from the scans but, it looks like there's a slight amount of wear on the Eagle's breast, so I would say AU58. Nice Morgan!

Seems most of you guys agree with me. There is a dispute in grade between me and my brother (he was thinking 62-63). I seriously need to invest in a better set up for taking pictures though. Those scans really are terrible. There is mint luster with the coin in hand, though.

The price point on this coin from MS-60 to MS-64 is a huge jump but I do not think it will make the higher grades. I would not get it slabbed but I would love to see you get it slabbed because I am wondering how it will come back..LOL..good luck

very light surface scratches on the face will bump down the grade even more..

AU 53, and if the scratch on the eagle chest is on the coin and not holder, it might not be graded ( damaged).

I agree, AU55 at best, not worth slabbing.

My best guess is au55. That looks like wear on the eagle's feathers. It also has alot of bagmarks. If you still want to send it in, do so with several other coins to save on shipping.
