Richard is that doubling on her forehead? Or is it light reflection? There's something going on from about eye level, running into her hair line.
Why? Chris
Why? Chris
Greed, I know a vam 21 ms 64 have sold for 165 bucks . Since there no clashes and etc present on vam 21 and not much information logged in on 21A til now, for 5 dollars and shipping, I can have vam world do some studies and hopefully add some new information to the site, which should add some extra value to vam 21A .

Why don't you contact John, @messydesk and see what he has to say. Chris
Nice looking Rick! I agree, it's worth a few bucks to study and maybe learn something that will benefit all collectors for now and in the future.
I think you'd be wasting your time. Why don't you contact John, @messydesk and see what he has to say. Chris
John showed up and hes the one that said 21A . He also said not much help on vam world for this one ( 21A ) Chris ....
The 2012 supplement only shows the obverse clash at the neck, and the two diagonal lines down from where the jaw and neck meet match the coin shown here. Someone was doing an exhaustive study of 1880 a few years ago and sent me all of his coins to photograph for a book that never happened, but didn't send a VAM 21A, as it may not have been discovered yet. Is there doubling on the date and stars as shown for VAM 21, or at least something that would be described in the same manner?
Heres a couple of marker John . First is the Die Gouge in hair loop Next is the Die Chip above the eye I'll have to wait for some light outside to shut the date, its way to dark right now for that ....
Rick, what's the issue with the first 8? Is there a name for that? I've never seen anything like that.
Funny you ask, I'm thinking the same . Vam world has 2 images of the date, I know its doubled . Snowing like a winter storm outside, bad day for images . I hate adding extra lights, other then the ones on the scope, extra lighting makes glare and thats not good ..
Die chips often form between the top and bottom loops of the 8s. If you think about it, this is a weak part of the die that has to stand up to metal flowing radially toward the rim. Sometimes you see these chips on both sides of the 8. I'm not sure, however, if there are any dated 188x that show chips on both sides of both 8s.
John, you want it, I can send it your way . Your the one helping us out on the forums and you can add it to your records . I'm sure you'll share the studies with Leroy anyways ...
Thank you. I'm not a huge silver dollar collector, especially Morgan's. I've just never seen that on a Silver Dollar.
