I have a MS Red/Brown 1880 IHC that has been sent to the NGC for grading. I tried to do a little research on it before I sent it off, however I could not find much info on the "broken 88" variety. Does anyone know what Snow# attribution this coin is? I apologize I only have one picture, and its not great. I know I had more, but cant find them.

Does this variety bring a premium? Thanks,

    RR

I believe it is a Snow 4 ?, and that there are 3 different sub varieties, probably as a, b, c but I am not sure of the group. When someone with Ricks volumes comes in, they can set me straight.

Thanks Jim. I just ordered his complete electronic variety book. I am looking forward to having 700+ pages to keep me busy for a few months.

Great! I personally would rather have 700 pgs than 70 :) so I envy you.

From Rick's book it looks to be an S4b because the one is closer to the point of the bust.
