I can tell you this much - that exact same coin sold for $8,050 back on Feb. 14, 2008. I don't mean one like it, I mean that exact same coin in the same slab with the same serial number. What you have to consider is how much more the price is going to drop - and if you think the coin is graded correctly. Personally, I think the coin is over-graded. There are others graded 65 DMPL by NGC that I think are nicer coins that have sold for half the price being asked for this one.
When spending that kind of money , I'd do a lot of research , or ask Doug which is far easier . And in this case I agree with Doug . rzage
I agree with what Doug has said. I'd like to add that this coin's price is also going to be limited by it's niche market. Dollars are always going to be hot but I have noticed VAM's cooling off a bit lately.
Without seeing it in hand or having seen other 65 DMPL's to compare it too I'd stay away. There are others as mentioned above that have sold for less.
