1879 S MS 64 will it go Higher??? Just wondering if anyone thought this would grade higher if I re submitted it. It is an 1879 S from PCI with a 9 didgit code. I was told the 9 digit codes were often under garded and the 10 were sometimes over graded. The pics are not the greatest but I hope they help. Any opinions? Thanks, fastfun1111
I am sorry but I would say that if you were to re-submit the coin (especially to PCGS, NGC or ANACS), it may get a downgrade! Although the Reverse appears to garner the MS-64 Grade, the Obverse has so much rub, gouges and scratches that I believe that it (Obverse) would Grade at MS-62 and would pull the coin's grade down to a Net MS-63 or MS-62. Frank
I'm going to have to say the coin looks to be overgraded as it is... I wouldn't risk a downgrade on this one, I don't think it even has a chance of going higher.
too much road rash on her face, I don't think its as high as a 64, so no don't resubmit for an upgrade
I would not resubmit. Your coin is at best Mint state 63/64. Too much chatter on the cheek. Keep your money and save up and buy you a PCGS MS65 Morgan. I truly believe if you resubmit your coin you will be severly disapointed.:goof:
I agree. The reverse is awesome. the 1st pic you took is very dramatic. Cool. but Liberty's face is just too pock marked(looks like my jr. high's dean). Still over all its a nice coin.
