20180604_181719.jpg 20180604_181650.jpg I bought this Morgan from an online seller who had a bunch from an estate sale find. At first, I thought this was a fake but found that the differences on reverse (additional short feather on left below eagle and rounded breast of eagle) were on an error coin. Can anyone confirm this is an error coin and tell me what it's worth?

Seems to be fake, it just doesn't look right.

  4. I would definitely weigh and measure the dimensions that one. The color looks wrong, especially the wiped clean patch behind liberty's head. The uneven letter spacing on the reverse is common on fakes.

And if it does not check out, file a significantly not as described claim with ebay ASAP. If the seller requests you send the coin back, tell them mailing counterfeit coins is a federal crime. The Hobby Protection Act is your friend.

I agree, almost certainly fake. Doesn't even look silver, portrait is just "off", there appears to be some raised dots and marks in the obverse fields that the cruder fakes often show...

Some of the details are all wrong. I’d say that’s definitely a fake.

Try to get a refund if you can and don’t buy from that seller again.

Don't listen to the estate sale garbage. 99 percent of the time it is made up to hook in unsuspecting buyers.

Thank you all for your advice...most appreciated!! I bought it on bid and only paid $6 for it. In case it was fake, I didn't want to spend a lot on it. It is probably worth that as a tribute/copy coin. Sure would have been awesome had it been real though :)

File a "Not As Described" complaint with ebay and ask for a refund. These characters with the "estate find" sales, prey on unsuspecting collectors and hurt the hobby. Besides, There is a good chance you'll end up getting to keep the fake dollar
