IMG_5125.jpeg IMG_5126.jpeg I pulled this coin out of my collection to potentially sell while I’m on vacation in Carson City. I have two 79 CC’s and this one is the lower grade. I just noticed the capped mint mark. Now I’m torn, maybe I should keep it. My other 79 CC has a clear mint mark. Thoughts?

Keep what you like. The value between the two only varys a little within the
    lower grades.

It’s a keeper for sure. Bought at grey sheet price for a g4. Doesn’t hurt to hang on to it

I’d hang onto it. I’m not a VAM or a variety collector but for certain coins it’s nice to have them. This is one of the ones to have.

I agree. Any top 100 vams are great to have

I have about 400 Morgans, most of them common dates (1921, etc.). Been stacking them for awhile. I was going to try and complete a set of them, but there are so many, and many have a huge price on them. I just couldn't fathom doing it. I just completed my SLQ set (23-S was the last to get), but the key dates in that set were pretty pricey. I don't know if I could go down that road with Morgans. I'd love to do that series but then I would probably lose my wife. :) hmm....

I have all but the 3 very impossible ones. I got mine back when you could still get common years in change and many of the more difficult dates could be traded for or were not as cost prohibitive as they are now. I would not want to start a Morgan collection today.

I’m close to having the entire collection but you what they say about being close. Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and other bombs.

I've probably got 400 Morgans in a bank vault but like you say, many are just common coins in fair condition, but I've got a really good start on completing a full set of Morgans in uncirculated condition. There are a few key dates where I really doubt it will be completed in MS condition. For some reason I just don't have motivation to obtain a coin that just isn't attractive, key date rarity be damned. I just do not covet that, so I doubt I'll ever try to obtain the really hard ones due do that. I'm not spending thousands of dollars on a coin that isn't gold, but that's just me. We all have our limits and quirks.

Got this one at the local coin show, liked the color. OP, I'd keep 'em both, one capped die and one "normal" die.
