1879 $3 Gold Indian Princess

This is a coin I picked up last week and my 1st $3 gold piece. With only 3000 minted the strike on these coins are amazing. Wish my phone camera would let me get the proof like image that is seen in hand. Oh well maybe one day I will have the opportunity to go to coin photo college !!!
The coin is in a 2 x 2 flip so most of the scratches that you were looking at are on the holder!!

Congrats on the pickup... this is a genuinely rare coin to be proud of at the right price/grade.

Can you take it out of the flip and take pictures without the plastic? I'm having a really hard time giving a good opinion of the coin if the plastic is scratchy as you say.

 

I will be out of town for the next 3 days to spend some time with the family.When I return I will remove a try to snap some better pics.

 

That is a VERY cool coin. Easily 4 digits and a sleeper date as well.
