So I am itching to have some of my more valuable coins graded just for added authenticity and I am revisiting some that I had put away. I won this one in a lot at public auction and marked it VAM 6 before I put it away. The CC looks right for VAM 6 and I see some doubling in the leaves and cotton, but can't find any other markers. Don't see anything in the date, and don't see anything in the ear. Is it VAM 6? Have checked and tried comparing to VAMworld. Cell phone pics, but I tried to take some through my loupe. Hope they work! Thanks!
The problem with trying to figure out if this is a VAM 6, 18 or 24 is thaty it is circulated and the images are not that great. I have attached a link for you to review since you have the coin in hand and a loupe. I wish you luck. http://www.vamworld.com/1878-CC+VAM-6
Thanks for the reply! The biggest factor that I see is that the CC looks like VAM 6 but will have to check again against VAM 24. I don't think it is a VAM 18 as the second C is kind of high and further to the right...
