Hi, I noticed the CC on my 1878 CC Morgan Dollar GSA was higher and tilted a little bit. I have seen this placement of the mintmark on some VAMs before. Any opinions on whether this is a VAM or not?
First, all Morgan (and Peace) dollars are VAM's. You can figure out which one is applicable by comparing yours to the list on VAMWorld...... http://www.vamworld.com/1878-CC+VAMs Your specimen appears to be a "Long Nock" with the 4th star on the right obverse "Unbroken" and a "Wide CC". Take it from there and compare the other PUP's against your coin. Chris
