Hi, I have no clue but I would like to find the value of this coin

It is an 1878 silver doller one side has a womans bust with a head band that says "Liberty" and on the reverse side is an egale.

Its a little banged up but has all its writing all the detail in the womans hair and face, also has all its writing and stars on it as well. I will post a picture once I have access to a camra...but in the mean time anyone able to give a rough estimate on the value of the coin...because I already got rid of all my silver coins for a whooping 85 dollars US. if I could accutaly get a collector to purchase this coin or know how much to put it up on ebay I would appreciate it.

    S Serries not CC

Its an S serries not a CC I looked and I hardly noticed it but there IS an "S" located a little ways below the Egales Tail feathers....now I looked on Ebay and saw some going for 200+ dollers but they seemed to be in 100% mint condition, my has hairline scratches on the serface and also has a worn spot or a ding on the ridging on the side of the coin and it is tarnished...not bright silver like the ones on ebay...still looking for its condition and or value

    thanks

The condition you describe puts the value of your coin at about $20. If we could view good close-up pictures of both sides of the coin then we could give a more accurate guess as to its value.

Hello Pandora, and welcome to the forum.

You have a Morgan dollar, of which more than 660-million were minted at four different mints from 1878-1921. It is very possibly the most collected U.S. coin ever produced.
