1877-S Trade Dollar

    Once again, i really appreciate your help to determine if this trade dollar is authentic, or not... before i make an offer..

    This one, though it has been harshly cleaned, still looks like a genuine coin to me.

    Me either. Not a lot of eye appeal.

    People told me to stay away from cleaned coins, especially trade dollars. I'd pass the same advice on to you. I'm glad I listened.

    I agree with the opinions above...Legit but harshly cleaned...and I would only make a bid on it if it was a 'hole filler' and going for just above the silver melt...

    I would not make an offer. It looks real, but it also looks extremely harshly cleaned, and re-toning slightly. Lots of deep scratches on the obverse from the cleaning. Please buy a slabbed trade dollar, rather than one of the mutilated raw ones that are on eBay or other auctions. You will be safe, not sorry. That coin has no eye appeal, and definitely was cleaned with an abrasive.

    Thank you very much for the help, in conclusion, the coin is original, but it was harshly cleaned. Is better not to do any offer, and to try to buy the certified one, which brings another problem, the price can be very top..
    This coin will be to add to my 7070 type set.
