Even i wouldn't mind having an 1877 in this grade, I'm guessing AG on this one. It's seen its day!

$500? AG works for me, too. Nice strong date on that one.

Paid $420. If there was any chance of it grading G4 I'd jump at grading, but as is- probably not...

AG, not enough detail for G-4.

looks AG to me too. hard to find one for under 400. I found an anacs G-4 last year for 450 and felt lucky.

I'm not sure it's real from the images shown.
If it is, I would value it at about $300

What makes you think it is not real? I would put it at AG-3 and $400 to $500 retail. In my opinion.

Those staples are scary close to the coin in those 1.5 X 1.5 holders.

It doesn't make g-4 for me

Although the photos aren't the best I am also curious as to what to what you see that may indicate if it is not real.

Why is the obverse worn so much more than the reverse?
The images make the obverse look as if the coin was struck off center.
I don't think that is the normal for a 77.

What's going on with the right side of the obverse we can't see?
Too many questions for me to be sure it's real.
Bad images always make me wonder.

I don't disagree with you (especially about the quality of the images). Even though I have been collecting a long time I sometimes have problems telling if something may be a fake.
