1877 CC Quarter - You vs. Bill Fivaz

How would you grade it? I bought this coin because of the holder and it is a CC (and the slightly-above-melt price).

P1 from all the wear and scratches on the coin. Nice date and mint mark, but no eye appeal. Worth more than melt, but Might be worth more if the fine reeding variety on the edge of the coin.

 

There's enough rim on the obverse that it could get a G-04.
Not sure if the reverse would take it down to an AG-03.
But whatever, it will definitely be a DETAILS coin.

 

You don't necessarily have to give serious grades for this coin. Bill didn't.

 

My serious grade would be G details, cleaned in scratched. My non-serious grade would be "had a rough life-70!"

G-03 details. Scratched to hell.
There's still value there. Someone would pay $20-$25.

 

Might make a good pocket project.

One trip to China too many.

 

I was actually going to guess "Not Very Good," but Bill's grade is also accurate.
