1875S 20 cent piece

Personally, and I'm sorry to say it, but I feel it rightfully deserves a details designation.

 

Cleaned VF...still not bad for 100 bucks.

Low VF details. Cleaned and a massive gouge over the left (eagle's right) wing.

 

looked like a black line to me not a gouge

 

Someone spent $155 on a coin that is worth only half that amount if it turns out to have been cleaned.

 

price was $115 which I thought not terrible for how much detail is left on the coin. If the dark line on reverse is a scratch than all bets are off.

 

Your link says sold for $155. Why the difference?

I disagree on that. What Jerry paid would be about right for a cleaned coin of the line is not a scratch.
