    Hi!

I am thinking about buying this coin. Any ideas what it should be worth, or what I shouldn't pay more than for it?

Also, if I were to buy it, would it be something worth getting graded by pcgs?

    Thanks, pictures below.[IMG] [IMG]

It's pretty badly beat up on the reverse. I think the purists here will call it a problem coin and warn you to stay away and save up for a problem-free coin.

I'll guess low VG details but ungradable. Hope that helps. Just my opinion; it may be incorrect.

The first one has VG10/F12 details, but horrific damage to the reverse rim. Run!

The first one has significant rim damage to the reverse and unless you choose a basement slabber, it's going to come back details- damaged from any reputable TPG.

The second one has a really odd color to it, but it might just be the light. Personally I don't like it. It might of been chemically cleaned at one point in time.

Grade wise, I would say VG8, not enough details in the robe and shield to make it a F12.

Here is an 1875-S 20c for $125 shipped in PCGS VG10 plastic.

The first appears to be ex jewelry and has solder all over the reverse tin the second just looks kinda muddy in the pics the reverse looks better the. The obverse I'd wait for a better one

Theres a member here selling a nice variety of this issue. I think you can check the For Sale forum here and find it.
