I'm looking for opinions on this seated half
    is it a proof?
    is something funny with it?

My first inclination is to think it is a proof....but I am not familiar with the differences. I'm also curious if this might be counterfeit. It has exceptional detail compared to others i've seen in this series.

    thanks,
    John

I don't know about proof or not, but the detail and stike are both very sharp. Very nice looking coin.

    Initial impression:
    - "no" to proof
    - "yes" to cleaned
    - "?" to counterfeit

agreed with kanga, no to proof.
there would be nice squared rims.

what is meant by, "squared rims"? They all look quite circular to me. :p

If you look closely at the outer edge of the coins business strikes are typically rounded over slightly. Proof examples have a very sharp, squared off edge.

    not a proof,
    harshly cleaned AU details,
it looks genuine to me, but if you are going to spend MS money on one of these just wait for a nicer coin

ooooh. ok. I get it. Don't worry, I was not considering buying it. I just thought it looked proof-like, but I didn't know how to tell the difference. Now I do. thanks!

    IMO -- Not a proof. Cleaned/polished business strike...Mike
