Found this today in a roll, and I am getting a few coins ready to ship off to be graded. I was wondering what you guys thought as to the value on this. I believe it is a 'open' 3, and there are some either cud/die chip marks or just rot on the obverse. Thanks for your time. 1873aa.png 1873aa.png 1873bb.png 1973c.JPG 1973d (2).JPG

john41 Toned coins, I like them. If I have it so can you.

Not sure if you sent this coin out but if you did not that verdigris needs to be neutralized before being put in a holder or it could continue to damage your coin. As to price it would be XF + pricing as it may be considered damaged. You could try Verdi clean or soak it in extra virgin olive oil for a couple weeks and lightly manipulating the verdigris with a well-soaked toothpick. Never use a dry toothpick always make sure it is well soaked in oil so the fibers loosen up. You can also apply light heat, that's light heat only hot enough that you can still touch the oil to speed up the process.

John41's treatment sounds like something I'd do, I endorse his plan.

To the olive oil bath it goes. Thanks john41. And I guess I might just save it for slezbay in the winter time and sell it raw if its not worth getting it graded.
