So I found an 1872 Seated liberty dollar coin and wondered about its authenticity. The eagle is down when the liberty is sitting up and it weighs about 28g on a kitchen scale :p Well the proportions are a bit off so its probably a fake. I also found an 1804 dollar coin with Zao Bi Chang on the rim surrounded by 8 or so stars. So?

Welcome to Coin Talk and I hope that you will stay as it is a great place for help and information on coins!

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you really answered your own question! I am certain that it is fake and a poor one at that! Note how uneven the "UNI" in "UNITED" look, the uneveness of the Stars, the areas of slanted denticles (vs straight) around both the Obverse and Reverse and just the overall appearance of the details. Although the wear and the pictures make it hard to detect any porousity, I would bet that it can be seen under magnification! Also, the coin is way overweight for a coin that normally should weigh 26.73 grams and in reality should weigh less than that due to so much so-called circulation wear.
