1872 Seated Dollar ...another GTG

    Here is another Silver Dollar type that we don't see too many guess the grade posts about. So let's see what everyone has to say.

    No idea what I'm doing but I'll say VF30

    That's a nice seated dollar I like it. I have a hard time seeing it thru the plastic but I'll go with XF40

    I'd guess VF-35 on that one. One thing that looks a little odd though are the surfaces, they look kinda glossy to me. It's just the highlights that I am seeing that are causing this reaction in me. It could be cleaned.

    Looks mid-VF to me. Nowhere near EF. VF-30

    35, maybe light cleaning but market acceptable.

    xf40...pleasing surfaces cleaned or not.

    Hard to get details, fuzzy pictures. I would guess 40 because late date dollars had a damaged master die that resulted in poor strike on LIBERTY. Reverse grades 40. my opinion.

    Yes the pictures didn't quite come out like I wanted and are fuzzy. Liberty is actually clear (fully legible) on the shield.

    My first thought was XF40, but then I saw more wear and decided on VF35.
