Being fairly new to the hobby, I find the subject of 'color' in copper coins confusing. Can a coin be 'RED' with a dab of browning, or is anything less than 100% red 'RED BROWN' or worse, 'BROWN'?

The subject here is a 1871 Indian Cent:

See this link for pcgs answer. At the bottom of the page is a pcgs answer. I think when you look at graded examples you can see coins with the same amount of red and brown - one will be bn and one will be RB. Personally I do not like the true reds on anything but wheaties or moderns. I like frosty browns or red browns - just a matter of opinion.

PS - by the way this 1871 reminds me of a "questionable" color coin or two I have. Not saying it is, but something about the surfaces makes me thing that. Like the color is flat. Plus if I had to pick a color for that coin based of the picture it would be RB. Just my opinion.
