I can't decide if it should be sent in to be slabbed or not. I'm not good with older error coins and I recently picked this one up.
Can anyone ballpark a price tag on something like this? Thanks!

I don't think it should be slabbed as this DDO is easy to see, no doubts about being -102, and the main consideration is the grade of the coin. I seem to think the prices are down over the last decade for certain series that seem to have lost popularity. The grade seems fairly low, few scratches on the crest, but you need to put up a photo of the other side. I would think about 1.50 - 2.50 times the price of a corresponding year and grade. I see these fairly often, but I forget the price , even when I buy one :)

Thanks for the reply and info. Here's the other side of the coin, much better quality. If I had to give a decent guess on the grade of this coin I'd say F at best.

Very cool pickup. I have several of the DDO shield nickels and I just love them. I believe that is one of the years I still need with a DDO.
