Hey guys it's been a while since I have been on here, but I have a question. I just got a 1870 3 Cent Nickel that is a DDO, However there is some crud around the date that I can't see if it's a RPD. I'm not sure if it's worth trying to cleanup to see. Is it worth anything more have a RPD? I can't seem to get a value on it as well. All the letters and head are doubled. It's my understanding that the date was punched after. So it's possible that the date could be a clean date, right? I posted a PIC (not a very good one) from my phone so you can see what I'm talking about. I will take a better pic with my SLR tonight. Any help would be great.
