I dont know if Im going to keep this one in my collection for very long. The last one to sell in this grade was back in 2007 and it brought $3000. It is currently tied for the finest known (PCGS MS64RB, CAC). Im pretty sure the spot in "OF" held this back from an MS65, as there are no visible marks on the coin. Anybody know just how rare this coin is and what I should price it at when I go to sell? My understanding is that there are about 10 known examples in all grades. Thanks,
very nice coin. i would keep it! (unless you need to sell it) It would be nice to give to one of your children or grandchildren. (or keep it to your grave) But if you want to sell it, sell it!
From a purely economic standpoint, sell it and buy several other investment-grade pieces that are more liquid, and more likely to maintain their value(s) during a period of high inflation, which IS coming. I think we all know we can't "count on" grandchildren to do anything, except eat.
Thanks for the replies.....The reason I am considering selling this one is to thin out my 1869's. I have 5 MS 1869s right now. S-1 MS64RB PCGS CAC S-3 MS65BN NGC CAC, PS S-4 MS63BN NGC PS S-4 MS65RB (not designated on holder, but this would be a top pop with NGC) MS64RB PCGS CAC, nearly full RD. I figured this one would bring the most money and free up the most funds to add to my collection elsewhere.

Among the coins you know best, and contribute to your collection(s), there are surely more liquid items, and you've answered your own question.
