Hi Everyone, Long follower of the forum, mainly purchase British coins but delved into US Cents recently. Know the fakers are getting quite good recently and with my first pricey purchase just want to pick your brains as to whether you guys give it the go ahead. I purchased this 1869 Indian cent and as it is a key date just want to see if there is something i am missing. If you would like any better pictures let me know, have terrible lighting at the moment. thanks in advance everyone regards RP
Can you please image it out of the 2x2? As there are several varieties listed for the 1869 IHC and the coin can't be seen in the holder.
Nice coin other than that tad bit of green growing on her at the ribbon and last feather. You may want to check that before it spreads. Here's a Web site you a wish to check out.....Indianheadvarieties.com
Thank you for all your help, always better getting a second opinion with different countries Regards RP
just trying that link your provided and it does not appear to work? just wondering if there is a typo in it?
Check the date especially the 9 for a repunched date also below the date in the denticals as this date has misplaced dates. You image is better but not good enough for me to see what I search for. A dip in some acetone may clear up the green spot. Cheers
just checked the 9 there, think that reassured me the most it appears to be a 9/9 if so ever slightly, thank you for all your help
It was a crap shoot but I believed that I saw a 9/9. I didn't want to plant a seed unless you could confirm in hand. As sometimes we see what we want to see not what's really there. Cheers
I doubt it is the 1869/69. It has to look just like this to be worth the premium. Not just a little or kinda-sorta.
