I wish I had a photo but I was at the local coin show today and a dealer had a 1869 half that would look great in my type set. Its in an old rattler pcgs case and has an AU 55 grade. The coin looks 58, no tone, original luster and nice strike. Is the coin worth $400. I don't have the gray sheet. Any advice on buying seated halves?

Wow with metal prices all over the place, people didn't want to buy gold and silver was no where to be found. Some of the dealers are scared of the gold market, they don't know which way its going, but all in all few deals could be found today.

It sounds a bit overpriced to me. Grey Sheet for that coin is $200 in AU-50 and $325 in MS-60.

that's why I am asking, I thought it was high, but I don't have a lot of experience with seated halves. Thanks, guys.
