i also have an 1867 shield nickel without rays where the date is touching the bottom of the shield design with absolutely no space in between.

Well the grade is completely dependent on the condition, so we need to see the coins to give you an accurate value

cant upload pics.....ca anyone tell me based on the fact that they're in g4 condition, no doubt about it. doesnt have to be exact just a general idea of whether its 10$ 50$ or 200$?

From what I've seen in the past the different hub varieties on the Shield Nickels don't bring a premium. There is an Ebay seller that tries and tries to get a premium even with them being slabbed but doesn't get any. So I will say no there isn't a premium.
One of the reasons is that they don't have a lot of collectors by hub so for the most part the ones that do collect by hub can cherry pick without much competition from others. It's the competition that drives the price.

well this is an error not a hub variety no?

  11. When you say that it is missing letters, we cannot tell you if they are simply worn, if there is a hub variety, or a greased filled die. We know how frustrating it is to keep hearing this, but without pictures, this thread is useless. Sorry.

Well if you want a GENERAL value, without factoring the possible hubb or error, in g4 condition there prob worth around $10 dollars each.

for the pictures, they have to be pretty small (around 100 kb) to upload on the forum.

aight ill try to post pics asap. to me they seem to be either a worn die or greased or some variety, because with my 30x loupe there arent signs of wear...the parts of the letters are missing not worn
