Here is one of my favorite coin types and only proof of the series. The first three cent nickel i bought had hardly any lines in the reverse and thats where i learned to buy only the coins with the full lines on the reverse. Neat little coins.
Sweet, man! Nice little coin. I have an 1866 myself! not a Proof but nice just the same. Great addition to anyone's collection. Thanks for sharing.
I assume you are saying your only proof? Because proofs were made every year from 1865-1872, between 500 and 1,000 each year.
The 3 cent nickel is still an empty slot in my registry type set. Every time I look for one, I'm torn between business strike and proof. It's surpising how many proofs are available and the prices aren't real crazy. This is a very nice specimen you've shared with us.
