I've been hiding this one from Clembo for a while. It's not too shabby. I figure it's been cleaned at one point. It was hard to take pics through the sealed mylar.
Hello, I'm new here so I'm sorry for intruding. My father just called and said that he found an 1868 2 cent piece while metal-detecting. I started looking up information on it and came across this site. I was wondering how much something like would be worth? How should he clean it and store it? Any info would be great!
First welcome to the site. Second don't do ANYTHING with it until you do a lot of reading and questioning here. If you're able to post pictures of the 2 Cent Piece please do so. DON'T clean it in any way - at least for now. Might I suggest you start a thread in the Introduction section and ask this question. There are many people here that can give better advice and like I said pics would be VERY helpful.
