A friend of mine bought a coin that looks exactly like the 1867 Shanghai Custom on this webiste http://chinacoins.chez-alice.fr/page1.html

    The value says: N/A

Does anyone know what kind of value this coin might have?

I'm sorry to break the awful news but they are all counterfeits. The top three are actually really rare coins and you are talking at least 5 figures if they are genuine. Chances of you buying them from a local coin market or over the net and paying little for them isn't too likely to be genuine.

A lot of fakes are made from this particular coin then? Thanks for the information.

Lots and lots of forgeries for the Chinese coins. The best thing is to use a scale and weigh them. Also, take note of the surface.. If it is kind of soapy, then you're going to be disappointed..
