Hello, i was thinking about gradeing my 1967 ihc but i dont know if i should go with ngc pcgs or anacs because it has a little corrosion. please tell me the value, if i should grade it and which coin grader.
I dont think you should grade it unless you wanna sell it. In that condition youll probably get 35 or 40 bucks. But im not to up to date with IHC's
if i sent it in which gradeing service should i pick and do you think it would be sent back.. thats my only concern is the corrosion its not bad but it might be bad enough
It's only in Good conditon and probably not worth submitting. But if you must send it in then you should probably go with ANACS or ICG so that it won't get bodybagged.
Agreed. CDN says dealer bid $40 in G-4. If you do submit it, also consider NCS (brother company of NGC). They will slab it even if corroded / porous and note that on the holder. If it is "up to snuff", they'll send it down the hall to NGC for slabbing. I kinda like that approach with potential "body bag" coins.
If it were my coin I would not submit this as it is G-4 or darn close. IMHO Grading this coin would not serve any purpose. If you want a Slabbed Coin Buy it, more than likely as Slabbed it will cost you less in the long run. Grading is for authentication of grade and coin's authenticity. I do not think anyone would counterfeit an 1867 G-4 although anything is possible
