I'm selling this coin, and it's getting a lot more interest than I expected. I'm wondering if there's something about it I'm not aware of. I know there are varieties for this date but I don't know how to identify them. Any thoughts? 1865 britain half penny.jpg

I saw that in the price guide, but if it is, I don't see it. I'm not great at noticing these things though.

Even if it is the overdate variety, it's not possible to identify from the photos. This is somewhat of a better date that even with heavy wear can go for $10 or so. I think it's probably just a couple loyal customers that are following your auctions and maybe not looking at ebay coins in general. That is usually the case with stuff like this :)

It ended up selling for $10. I saw that the book value was a little higher than the average half penny but it's hard to know how accurate that is, especially since this had some wear.
