All I found an 1864 L Indian Head penny while metal detecting. Its in great shape and the L is clearly visable. However, the penny has a green patina. Does anyone have an opinion of what a value might be? Best Regards Pete
Hi Peterj and welcome to the forum. Ebay is a good judge for going prices on coins. I checked and an 1864 L with questionable surfaces but full LIBERTY and visible "L" went for $51. It would help if you could post a picture so that I could see the condition for myself. From what you have said so far, I think you're looking at the $50 range unless there are also deposits on the surface along with the green coloring.
