Just real quickly the reverse looks AG on the perimeter and G nearer the center and the obverse looks VG. I see what you're focusing on, the graining, and I think it's kind of cool. Looks like it was in the ground for a spell judging from the corrosive look. Large Motto. It's got character, I'll give it that.
Looks pretty corroded and scrubbed; especially on the reverse. The images may be playing tricks on me though.
