My uncle gave my his small coin collection, and in it was this half dollar. I figure it is a copy of commemorative coin, but was wondering the value? And what its composition is?[IMG][IMG]

The 'real ' confederate half was dated 1861. In the 1960s , many medallions and souvenirs were made for the southern US area. Truck stops, celebrations, etc. Many confederate cents were made also with the 1862 date, all are just fantasy pieces, usually made from 'white metal' and are only good for argumentation or pride. The confederate mint was in the possession of the North by 1862. I can see someone paying a few dollars for one, it would be worth more to me as a family item.

It's probably German Silver which is really copper, nickel and zinc.

You uncle didn't put notes on his stuff?
