I got this from my grandma along with a bunch of other old paper currency. I just wanted to share this new addition with all of you paper fanatics here at CT, I just got a new laptop so I'll be posting all my new finds I've got in the last four months. By the way how much is this note worth? I'm not going to sell it ,just curious. Thank you.

Nice old note fish. Do you know if that's from Portsmouth, VA, or another state with a city named Portsmouth ( there are quite a few)? Looking forward to seeing your other finds.

I just did some checking real quick fish and found that it is Portsmouth, VA. Apparently, Daniel J. Turner was a prominent citizen of Portsmouth and was involved in banking and other things. A nice historical note.

Pretty cool to have your grandma give that to you. I wonder how long she had it in her possession?

It was in a box along with some other old notes and a bunch of 90% silver coinage, she said some of the notes came from her mom.
