1861 Half Dol Confederate States of America unusual copy

    Hi

    I have had come into my hands a 1861 Confederate Half Dol which has the shield on both sides. Was the wrong side shaved ? Is this an anomaly or were there multiple of this type of copy?

    It has had put onto it the word COPY

    Sounds like one of the examples that Dixie Gunworks was selling back in the mid 1980s via their catalogue.
