i was recently going through a house that i inherited; and i found about 1,500 $5 notes ... all series 1861 and quality between 94 & 99 (out of 100). how much would these be worth (each) in today's dollars?
Check your notes against these known fakes. That might answer your question.................http://www.rebelstatescurrency.com/reproductions.html
starting to check the bills (when i found them, i used non-powdered latex gloves and placed them in 3-pocket currency protectors in a binder).
lets see some pic if you can. we woud love to see them, and to help sort out of they are real I dont know about values if they are real, but if they do turn out to be real.. WOW
Please post some pics so we can take a look. That's really the only way we can give you much feedback is if we can see them, identify and grade them.
I think we need a Moderator here..............His previous post dealt with the1928 Silvercert #1 & #2. Now this.....................I feel used!.............HELP
The thread itself will die on its own if the OP doesnt provide additional info as questions arise. If these notes are also figments of his imagination like the #1 serial note possibly was, then the thread will soon be buried under the more usefull posts. With that being said, i still like to treat each post/thread with the 'benefit of the doubt' so to speak, unless overwhelming evidence shows it to be beyond truthfull (as the image test was done in the other thread). I have seen posts that were 100% skeptical when they first appeared and were treated as such... only to have all the skeptics proven wrong, myself included, and the note in questions was in fact 100% real. So while this and the other post show merits of us all being misled, i will still lok at this thread being 'possible' .... there is good in the world... somewhere
Simple realy as DJ says if the man has the notes and wants our input he will post pics of them if not then :crying:
