Printed in 1861 by Richard Griffin and Company in Great Britain "A New Edition, Greatly Enlarged, and Carefully Revised." Illustrated by Fac-Similes (sic) of the coins of each period, worked in gold, silver, and copper." All gilt edges. Elaborately tooled boards are in remarkably good condition. Textblock is unmarked but lightly tanned with some foxing. 23 Plates. Bookplate with glue residue around edges on first end page. Bookseller's sticker on same page. Previous owner's rubberstamp on first free end page with penciling and evidence of erasure. Errata printed on page 207. Asking price: $100 Second: Provincial Copper Coins or Tokens, Issued Between the Years 1787 and 1796, Engraved by Charles Pye of Birmingham From the Originals in His Own Possession Author: Pye, Charles First Edition. Printed in 1796 by John Nichols Red-Lion Passage in London All 36 plates present, with original tissue paper guards. 3 pages of index and advertisement by Charles Pye of Birmingham, Sept. 1st 1795. No missing or torn/ripped pages. There is foxing and tanning. Original leather cover heavily worn, but has brown cloth binding tape along spine. Inside is in remarkable condition for the age of the volume. Previous owner's rubberstamp on first free end page. Brief inked inscription on same page.
