Here are a couple of coins I just bought, one being an 1859-O LS $1 I paid $360 for which I grade as a VF25, and an 1857 Flying eagle cent I picked up from a local dealer bid board for $43 which I grade at XF45. I'm really a newbie when it comes to grading as I've only been learning grading for a few months. I felt I got a great deal on the FEC, and on the LS $1 I got what I paid for. What do you think of the really dark patina on the LSD? Does the ding around the date lower the grade in your opinion?

It was scary payng that for the LSD, most I ever paid for a coin to date. How did I do? I'm thinking of having these graded. How do you hink they will come back, and what kind of value?
    Thanks in advance.

I think the 1857 FEC looks great for that price! Not had any experience with the seated dollars.

The FLC is a beauty, you got a excellent price for it. The SLD is decent and about the going rate for it. Both should grade without any issues.
