I have a 1859 Indian Head that is a 100% full brokage on the reverse. You can only see a mirror image of the obverse details, and no original reverse details. It also appears the brokage was double struck. The coin is horrible condition. www.minterror news.com lists a 100% full brokage Indian Head @ $1,250 for a circulated coin. I realize this is more than circulated. Any idea on the value of a double struck full brokage for this coin?

I think it's PMD. I don't believe it to be a full brockage. My vote is hammer or vice job.

I strongly suspect that it is faked.

To me it looks like a 1903 was used to make the impression on the 1858.

It appears to have at least three impressions, not two, none of the impressions seem to be deep into the coin, there are traces of the reverse design visible which would mean a struck coin and not a planchet in the coining chamber, the date of the coin impresses into the reverse does not appear to be an 1859, and the fact the obverse is beat up.

As most have said, it's an old squeeze job.
