1858 (P) $5 Liberty Head.

    I made an imgur album for a few more images as well. Fairly uncommon coin but I think it has an old cleaning and it has a hairline scratch down the center. I'd like some opinions on value!

    Despite its low mintage the 1858 half eagle is priced as a common date so, with this scratch and having been cleaned my opinion is that it would not have any premium over its intrinsic value. In other words it is not worth more than its weight at the current spot price of gold.

    My high school American Government teacher would say before he uttered his opinion on anything "This is my opinion and you have the right to accept it or refuse it."

    maybe a tad over melt but thats it. That scratch really hurts it!
