1855 large cent

    what are the copper guys opinion on this one? TPG grade would likely be 40 to 45? How about EAC net grade? s-l1600.jpg s-l1600-1.jpg

    I grade that AU50-53.

    Probably XF-45, a little too much wear on the hair above the ear to grade higher I think. Nice clean coin. :)

    You need a well lite specimen to dare to set a grade.

    although pics are dark I believe you can see the coin well enough to give approximate grade by at least the detail remaining on coin. The color might be another story. Paid $40 for this coin and if the color and surfaces turn out how I think they will I think that was a low price for this one.

    Looks like a 40 to me, maybe a 45. Can't net grade because the picture is not sharp enough to show defects, but assuming no major scratches being hidden, I would say 40 net 30 for toning.

    I see a nice AU-50. I think that some of the weaknesses have more to do with the weak strike rather than wear. Use the stars as a reference as to the strike quality.
