1855 Half Sovereign-Whatcha Think?

    Ok this is one of the most common years, and is often found in the EF-Unc range. This coin weighed at 3.99 gms and looked similar to others.
    Do you see anything unusual about this one? Not a trick question as personally I do not. The pictures appear to show more friction on devices (Victoria) than is obvious in hand:

    NGC says FAKE! I don't think so as it compares very favorably to another 1855 that I have. I have looked with scope, and colour, weight and ring are all spot on...

    Nothing obvious that I could see, but is the flaky rim above the GRA on the obverse common for these coins?

    Yes I have a number of other dates. Rims &denticles are many times not that well executed.
