Here is a recent purchase for my type set. Though not nearly as nice as some of the large cents on this board, I think it has fairly strong details, and fits the general look of the early copper in my type set. It's not perfect(it has a small obverse gouge and some minor rim bumps), but it's a keeper imo. What do you guys think?

    I like it.

I think the TPGs would grade it AU.
I think EAC would grade it XF.
I think ANA would grade it XF.

Me, I would grade it about $100, maybe more if it shows good luster in-hand.

I like AU for the coin also. Very nice.

p.s. my only concern with the coin is if it had been recolored (may be just the photos).

Thanks for the comments.:kewl: I'm not sure about the recoloring. If it is, it's not obvious to me. My coronet large cent is definitely recolored, and this doesnt look it to me. However, I'm no expert regarding this, and the coin doesnt really have luster so it has probably had something done to it. I paid $56 for it so if it is not original, I pretty much got what I paid for. I'm not nearly as picky about my early large/half cents as I am with other coins in my type set. That will probably change someday, but I just don't have the desire to fork over hundreds of dollars on these. Well, regardless, it is a great filler for now.
