What do you think of this 1853-O gold dollar? Would PCGS/NGC bag it because of the scratch below the bust? It grades about AU-50.
You know it may be worth a try..if the do body bag it you will not be charged ....I think? Yep!! Yep and Yep!!
Just my opinion, but I think they would bodybag it. You may want to try ANACS. That way, if it is deemed a severe scratch, they will still slab it in one of there problem holders.
Accually, if it ends up body bagged, PCGS & NGC will both charge a grading fee regardless. Might be a good idea to go through ANACS.
