1853 large one cent with 4 holes on it.

    These holes are original or someone actually punched holes on this large one cent coin?

    The holes are PMD . Someone used this as a jewelry piece or something . Kind of a waste on such a nice looking cent.

    I saw something like this on some horse tack many years ago. Very crude but made for a nice halter.

    That would have made a really large button. But, any coin with any hole is worth less than an unholy specimen.
