hi All, I purchased this 1852-o seated half dollar around XF/AU in terms of wear (see pictures) but it was probably polished somehow and has a couple hits to it. One thing about it that is wierd is it has a few smooth bumps around the reverse -- I have noted a few in the 3 images: (1) just about the 1st "S" in STATES (2) between the arrows and about the "C" in AMERICA (see picture) (3) between the serifs in the HALF (see picture) They are very distinctive raised bumps in the planchet Can anyone come up with a decent explanation for these? Otherwise the coin is very "proof-like" suggestive of a polished or buffed coin. any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks andy
