1851 large cent . Possibly 51 over 81 ?

So I’m curious on how I can clean around the numbers or mint marks to see if there’s any doubling etc. on this coin and there’s ? There always seems to be a bunch of “crud” around the key areas. I’ve read online about soaking in olive oil, hydrogen peroxide Etc etc .
Anyways. Does anybody think this is the 51 over 81 variety? I can see the bottom left of the 8 to the bottom left of the 5 ..

Yes you have a 1851 over the 81. The 81 was punched upside down leaving a small but distinct tail (if you call it that) on the right side of the correct 1. Please do not clean this in any way shape or form. It's quite an obvious error despite the crud so leave as is.

In the future, if a coin has dirt caked on it . I should soak it in distilled with distilled water . Then what ? I was thinking of blowing it off with compressed air ? Also how do you guys take such good pics . I only have a iPhone and a magnifying thing that goes over the camera.
